DISCLAIMER: Recall, this is a competitive league. Newer players would be better suited to play in FDA's summer league.

If you want to play ADA you are REQUIRED to sign up online. The deadline to register is May 7th.

Please fill in the calendar as accurately as you can, paying special attention to the Tournament dates. Click on the dates you will NOT be able to attend.

ADA Men's Division (Transformers Theme)
The men will play on Thursdays with a tournament on Saturday June 20th from 3:30-7:30.

ADA Coed Division (Harry Potter Theme)
For those of you who have not heard we will also have a coed (4-3 maybe 3-4 depending on lady numbers) division on Tuesday nights. The tournament will be Sunday June 21st from 3:30-7:30. I'm not sure what we will do if too many men sign up but it might not be an issue. We'll cross that bridge if need be.

FYI, I'm moving to Richmond, VA with Lindsey in June so I will not be here for the end of ADA but I have a task force of volunteers who will take over for me.

There's currently a 40%/60% female/male ratio signed up for mix. Is this appropriate for the goals of this division and the women's desires for the type of league they want? I'm debating signing up and I don't want to throw things more out of kilter if too many guys are already signed up.

Statistically 40%:60% is fine for 3 women, 4 men league.

3/7=43%
4/7=57%

However, practically the women's signup and women's regular attendance has been extremely low compared to the men's signup and men's regular attendance.

We absolutely will not drop the coed ratio below 4 men-3 women but we will have to wait and see if the 4 female-3 male ratio is feasible.

In conclusion, the male to female ratio is not ideal. More men will be sitting the bench, but the alternative is to restrict the number of men who can sign up. 1st come 1st serve does not meet the goals of the most competitive league and not letting people signup b/c they are weaker players is cruel.

That being said everyone knows that ADA is "competitive" so weaker players don't get as much play time and since everyone is aware of this upfront they can decide if it is worth it to them.
